Springtime captured in a bottle

Let's start with the legendary Italian speciality ... Prosecco. A new brand for this year that comes directly from Italy ... Valdo ... it's made no where else.

For those of you who are new to the delights of Prosecco, a true Prosecco must be made in a small region of Northern Italy centered around the town of Valdobbiadene. There are a number vineyards in the area, and they are allowed to use the name "Valdobbiadene" in the title of their name.

Valdo is the oldest and most renowned true Prosecco maker in the region. They are the only vineyard allowed to use "Valdobbiadene" as their entire brand name ... which they have shortened to the now familiar "Valdo" world-wide brand name.

We've heard on the grapevine that they could have a new variety that will launch at the Whale Festival!!!

It's that time of year again...

Yes, the Whale Festival is opon us ... it's a totally September celebration this year, running during the last weekend of the month ... Friday Sept 27 - Sunday Sept 29.

As always Fabio's will be open every day of the festival ... including Sunday. There could be a "Festival Dish-of-the Day", but you'll have to call in and seek out the blackboards to see what it is.

The Whale Festival is traditionally the "Aperol Festival" here. Well are after all, we are "Casa Aperol di Hermanus" ... an accolade carried exclusively by Fabio's Ristorante in the town.
